This Wet type of under floor central heating means that it is fed by hot water piping system under the floor of your rooms. This is supplied from a boiler that circulates the water. There are alternatives ways of heating the rooms but the best type if you are fitting out a large area, or want to convert your entire home, is the Wet under floor heating system. The boiler will carry on feeding water at around 80 degrees C but is held back from under floor heating system. This blender valve monitors the water temperature in the UFCH (under floor central heating), then will and add small amounts of water needed to keep the temperature at 35-40 degrees C. There is a smaller UFCH system, that does the same with a thermostatically controlled blending valve. Larger systems have a manifold. This is a combination of a circulating pump, a blending valve and a bank of valves to manage the flow, isolating the heating in certain rooms as required. The Buffer tank:A buffer tank could be added to the system. The buffer is a thermal store, defined as a large body of water kept at the correct system temperature. This would be fitted between the boiler and manifold, allowing the boiler to heat the thermal store, and generate the heat for the manifold. The store loses heat really slowly, heating the manifold for a long time without using the boiler which is a big energy saver. This is great for systems that use an air source heat pump, as it lets the heat pump run in the day to heat the buffer tank, then use the hot water to supply the UFCH at night.
